Forward Deployed Engineer
TITLE: Forward Deployed Engineer
ENVIRONMENT: Cybersecurity
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA Onsite
COMPENSATION RANGE: $170,000.00 - $250,000.00 DOQ
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree – CS or Technical related degree
CITIZENSHIP: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder and able to work for any U.S. Employer
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 2 – 5 years
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are an AI-powered cybersecurity platform that protects SMBs from account takeovers, specifically targeting Microsoft 365 environments. Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks have exploded, rising 141% year-over-year, and have become the #1 way businesses lose money to cyberattacks. We detect more attacks and respond faster than any competitor on the market while triggering fewer false positives.
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to serve as the first line of defense for our highest-value customers — owning the full cycle from triaging bugs and shipping fixes to building technical rapport and championing the customer experience. You'll join a small, high-caliber team at a cybersecurity startup that's scaling fast and needs talented, customer-facing engineers to maintain a premium product experience as the business grows.
What will you be doing?
- Be the primary point of contact for our largest accounts — absorbing every inbound question, bug report, and feature request
- Turn around bug fixes and incremental product improvements quickly while embedded with high-value customers
- Sit with the engineering team to deeply understand detection, the product backend, and hard vs. soft constraints so you can interface credibly with customers
- Lead initial product discovery for new features based on real customer pain points, then roll improvements back into the codebase
- Represent our technical capabilities externally — including trade shows and technical demos — in collaboration with the go-to-market team
Work experience:
Experience shipping bug fixes and iterative improvements from customer feedback
Customer-facing technical work — has directly engaged with customers to discover pain points and build solutions (not just support/config work)
Tech stack
Node.js, TypeScript, React, Python
