POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer II with 4+ years of experience in spacecraft electrical engineering to own the power systems behind our modular power plant in space. We will let satellites and spacecraft connect to it and draw power in orbit. We need a space-native engineer who is comfortable with very high voltage systems, battery state of health, and how electrical components work together in the space environment.
What will you be doing?
- Owning the electrical power subsystem (EPS/PCDU) for the spacecraft, including power generation, conditioning, distribution, and battery systems
- Designing high-voltage power management and distribution (PMAD) systems that run reliably in vacuum, accounting for plasma charging, magnetosphere interactions, corona discharge, and electrical breakdown
- Managing high-voltage battery state of health and making sure electrical components work together reliably across the spacecraft
- Taking hardware from a smallsat demonstrator to flight using breadboarding, schematics, PCB layout, bench testing, and debugging
- Guiding electrical hardware through Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) and environmental qualification
