Compensation: $120,000 to $140,000 plus 15% bonus
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Procurement Category Manager to lead our global construction procurement activities. Based in Greenville, SC, you will oversee procurement for local projects while serving as the primary procurement lead for a major new manufacturing plant being built in Ohio, with construction starting in September 2026.
In this role, you will manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from the initial planning phases through to final execution. While this position initially operates without direct reports, we need an experienced leader who knows how to step up, lead cross-functional project teams, and naturally coach, mentor, and train others along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Construction Procurement: Drive the end-to-end sourcing and purchasing strategy for major construction initiatives, heavily focusing on the upcoming Ohio plant build.
- Manage Capital Projects: Oversee full-lifecycle CAPEX projects, ensuring they stay on schedule, within scope, and under budget.
- Drive Negotiations: Secure the best terms, pricing, and service agreements with construction vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead Project Teams: Act as a central leader for cross-functional project teams, guiding and mentoring team members to achieve project goals.
- Analyze Data: Leverage market data, pricing trends, and supplier performance metrics to make informed purchasing decisions and optimize spend.
- Support Local Operations: Manage additional procurement activities for existing operations and projects in the Greenville, SC area.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Core Experience: Solid, proven track record in construction sourcing, procurement, and purchasing.
- Industry Background: Strong professional background in either consumer products or high-speed manufacturing environments.
- CAPEX Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing complex capital projects from start to finish.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor people and project teams, even in an individual contributor capacity.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation tactics, strong data analysis capabilities, and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
