Overview
A Houston-based blue-collar field services organization is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team. This CFO will lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, lender and board reporting, GAAP compliance, and financial infrastructure development while helping prepare the company for a future sale process.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on finance executive who understands field-based service operations and can bring structure, insight, and discipline to a growing business.
Key Priorities
- Own financial planning, annual budgeting, multi-year forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Partner with the CEO on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and enterprise value creation.
- Oversee lender reporting, covenant compliance, banking relationships, and debt-related reporting.
- Present financial performance, trends, and key metrics to the Board and sponsor stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage and support the Controller and accounting team responsible for day-to-day accounting.
- Build scalable finance processes, reporting tools, and operating rhythms across the business.
- Support acquisition evaluation, due diligence, and post-close integration.
- Lead sale-readiness efforts, including reporting discipline, KPI development, and investor-ready financial packages.
- Identify cost savings, margin improvement opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
Ideal Background
- Prior experience as a Chief Financial Officer is required.
- Experience in a blue-collar field services business such as HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical, mechanical services, or a related sector.
- Background with companies in the $50M–$500M revenue range.
- Private equity-backed or independent sponsor-backed company experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, GAAP reporting, internal controls, lender reporting, and board-level communication.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, process improvement, and future sale preparation.
- Cost-conscious, operationally engaged leader with strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- CPA, master’s degree, sell-side transaction experience, or IT/systems knowledge is a plus.

Houston, Texas. Regular in-person leadership presence is expected. No Remote
