Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Finance Operations Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and enhancing financial strategies and operations within the manufacturing sector. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage financial planning, reporting, and analysis to drive efficiency and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of cost accounting principles, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage financial budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct thorough performance analyses and standard cost development, focusing on inventory valuation and data collection coordination.
  • Ensure adherence to established financial protocols and promptly address any discrepancies.
  • Implement financial and performance measurement systems that align with strategic goals.
  • Identify and prioritize operational accounting opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate effective communication and information flow between plant and corporate financial systems.
  • Oversee the integration and coordination of information systems related to financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide leadership in the development and use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with resource consumption and cost allocations.
  • Lead training initiatives to institutionalize costing and financial analysis principles across the organization.
  • Perform ad hoc cost and economic analyses as needed to support operational and strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing accounting.
  • Proven ability to work independently with effective self-direction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in Excel and a working knowledge of Access.
  • Experience with SAP and other financial systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in mentoring and guiding teams.
  • A positive attitude, strong motivation for discovery and improvement, and the ability to handle complex issues.
  • Experience in business process analysis or operations research is advantageous.
