The PEO Benefits Professional is responsible for the administration and day-to-day operations of the master benefit programs with Optimum, such as group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), voluntary programs and employee assistance program.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: ▪ Client set up of all new benefit plans. ▪ Processing enrollments for medical, dental, vision, supplemental plans, pet insurance, etc. ▪ Process enrollments for qualifying life events. ▪ Enrolls employee benefit information into HRIS database. ▪ Entering in HSA contributions to benefit software. ▪ Enter in benefit adjustments. ▪ Client Premium Only Plan (POP) discrimination testing. ▪ Update Optimum benefit forms yearly. ▪ Answers questions regarding benefit eligibility, amounts of coverage and claims procedures for employees, supervisors and vendors. ▪ Timely response to all employee inquiries and complaints to ensure quick resolutions. ▪ Assist with monthly enrollment of newly eligible employees. ▪ Conduct benefits orientation for open enrollment when client renewal occurs. ▪ Conduct open enrollment meetings for new clients when in conversion. ▪ Liaison for client for benefit overview/plan amendments. ▪ Answers questions regarding benefit eligibility, amounts of coverage and claims procedures for employees, supervisors and vendors. ▪ Provide forms and other health and welfare documents to employees and employers. ▪ Distributes materials such as summary plan descriptions and benefit pricing. ▪ Update employee payroll records for benefits reconciliations, as needed. ▪ Prepare for yearly electronic open enrollment for Optimum master medical plan. o Update premiums in HRIS system for upcoming benefit year ▪ ACA planning for clients
