Large healthcare network in Central New York and major teaching affiliate of local renown university is seeking a Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join the Cardiovascular Service Line. The ideal candidate will be skilled in advanced cardiac surgical techniques, with preferably at least three years of clinical experience. The position will be full-time and will focus on adult cardiac surgery.

This employer performs 125 major cardiac surgical cases annually including CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries. Catheterization lab averages 600 PCI cases and about 75 TAVRs yearly. This position would involve performing primarily cardiac surgical cases and covering the inpatient census with the APC team. Participating on the Structural Heart team weekly as the covering surgeon for TAVRs and Watchman procedures, as well as Thoracic cased if interested depending on experience. Cardiac surgical results have consistently met or exceeded both state and national quality standards as monitored by the NYS and STS Databases.  

Pertinent Highlights Include:

  • One week per month Monday-Sunday
  • Work with a dedicated team of Cardiologists and APCs in a collegial environment.
  • Primary cardiac surgical OR, 3 cath labs and a Hybrid OR
  • Cardiac Surgery team consists of 6 CT Surgery APCs who provide 24/7 in-house coverage for the CT surgical service
