Account Manager

Special Opportunity: Seeking a passionate, trusted, dedicated senior member of the team to partner with our core team.  This role will present a unique opportunity to learn and grow while helping to steward client work as well as MarComms support and branding. Responsibilities:

 

        Client Work

        Manage two-three accounts, from developing strategy, to executing and delivering high-impact strategic communications campaigns, to devising measurement strategies that show tangible results of the campaigns.  Ability to work across B2B and B2C clients.  Travel and tourism experience a plus.

        Develop communications strategy, including developing plans and writing press releases, pitches, opinion pieces, case studies and other content where needed on behalf of clients.

        Strong global media relations experience, including ability to manage news bureaus and pitch global, national, regional and trade journalists across print, broadcast and online, to secure press coverage for clients’ stories.

        Secure speaking engagements and generate thought leadership ideas or clients.

        Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients.

        Where needed, handle clients’ social media accounts such as their Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn pages.

        Deliver analytics reports on social media, reporting on traffic, engagement and follower figures.

        Brainstorm fresh ideas for PR campaigns.

        Drive visibility and create thought leadership for the firm.  Also, lead award submissions.

        Opportunity to lead and pitch new business across the network; participate in ongoing network activities and meetings.

Requirements:

        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing.

        Team player who collaborates well with others.

        Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

        English language fluency.  Strong communications skills, writing, copy-writing and editing skills.

        Great relationship-building skills. 

        Effective listening, problem-solving and counseling skills.

        Ability to meet tight deadlines from your team and your clients.  Also, you will need to work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality.

        Ability to work autonomously and act independently.

        Digital expert familiar with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication.

        Ability to be resilient, being ballsy enough to pick up the phone to national journalists and resilient enough to handle criticism and rejection.
