Chemical Process Engineer Summary
The Process Engineer plays a key role in overseeing and optimizing production operations at our Pasadena Southeast of Houston) Texas facility. This position focuses on ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality processes while driving continuous improvement and supporting capital and maintenance projects.
Chemical Process Engineer Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and improve day-to-day production processes and utility systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical and equipment issues in coordination with operators and supervisors.
  • Analyze process data and lab results to identify trends and implement performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and HSE teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support capital and maintenance projects, including planning, scope development, and contractor oversight.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to operations personnel.
  • Participate in safety meetings and promote a strong culture of safety and compliance.
  • Prepare material balance reports and utility usage calculations to support production efficiency.
  • Communicate regularly with customer service and management regarding process performance and scheduling.
Chemical Process Engineer Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 8-15+ years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or refining manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and production or inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing abilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001 quality systems preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license a plus.

Work Environment
This role is based in a chemical manufacturing facility and involves regular time spent in production areas. The position may require standing, walking, climbing, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs). Strict adherence to all safety and operational procedures is required.
