Occupational Therapist (Pediatrics) – Forest, VA

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our pediatric therapy team in Forest, VA. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and their families. The ideal candidate will be passionate about pediatric therapy, skilled in evaluating and treating developmental and sensory-motor challenges, and committed to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess children’s functional abilities, sensory processing, and motor skills to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct therapy services to pediatric patients in a clinic setting, using evidence-based practices to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and overall independence.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and families, to ensure a comprehensive approach to therapy.
  • Educate and train parents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercises to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Document and maintain accurate records, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy through professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and community outreach to enhance the clinic’s mission and services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current OT licensure in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Pediatric experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for working with children are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement creative and engaging therapy sessions.
