Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity – Upstate New YorkJoin a Collaborative Team in a Region Known for Quality Care and Natural Beauty
A well-established healthcare network serving a scenic region where the Adirondacks meet the St. Lawrence River is actively seeking full-time Emergency Medicine Physicians to join their dedicated team. This opportunity offers a supportive environment with a mix of community and critical access hospital experiences.
Candidate Requirements: Board-Eligible within 5 years of residency or Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians are encouraged to apply.
Schedule: Full-time commitment involves 12 shifts per month, each 12 hours (totaling 144 hours).
Work Locations and Shifts:
Main Regional ED: Coverage includes 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am shifts with 24 hours of physician and 36 hours of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage daily. APP shifts include triage and ED coverage. Expansion to 36 hours/day physician coverage planned in early 2025 with a new ED opening. Average physician sees 1.32 patients per hour. This ED accepts transfers from affiliated critical access hospitals and manages trauma cases.
Critical Access Hospital #1: 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am physician coverage, supported by 8 hours of APP coverage. Physician patient load averages 1.34 per hour, with quieter night shifts.
Critical Access Hospital #2: 8am–8pm and 8pm–8am shifts, with an average of 1.18 patients per hour. This site has generally lower acuity and less busy night shifts.
Physicians may have the opportunity to cover shifts across all facilities as system physicians.
Hourly Rates:
Critical Access Hospital #1: $300/hour
Main Regional ED: $285/hour
Critical Access Hospital #2: $265/hour
System-wide coverage: $315/hour
Signing Bonus: $50,000 with a two-year contract commitment.
Student Loan Repayment: Eligible for several federal and state loan forgiveness programs including Public Service Loan Forgiveness and state-specific grants.
Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000.
Paid CME: $4,000 annually.
Professional Fees: $2,500 annually.
Malpractice Insurance: Covered by the employer.

This position includes variable compensation components tied to productivity and/or value-based incentives.
Pay is influenced by experience, qualifications, specialty, location, and organizational equity.
