This position provides leadership, direction, and execution of all quality and food safety functions a fresh poultry plant. Individual will ensure all products meet or exceed all customer, regulatory, and company requirements. The QA Manager directs the plant Quality Assurance department in selecting, developing, and motivating Quality Assurance team members to achieve company quality and food safety goals.  Specific responsibilities include:

⦁ Manage the systems that drive quality in the processing plant and champion the quality effort among employees in all departments. Develop, document and implement HACCP processes/ procedures.

⦁ Establish and integrate product standards including visuals for the production floor.

⦁ Create and structure testing and verification procedures, including frequency and documentation.

⦁ Manage Quality data collection, process measurements, process analysis, and reporting; Facilitate accurate data collection; Make improvements as necessary.

⦁ Monitor production processes and identify areas of opportunity to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

⦁ Develop, implement, and manage policies for GMPs, sanitation processes, product recall procedures, and HACCP;

⦁ Manage audits by third-party inspectors. Maintains effective working relationship and communication with USDA staff.

⦁ Develop and provide training for quality assurance and line employees.

⦁ Inspect facility for compliance with standards, determining methods to resolve problems.

⦁ Ensure that records and documentation of monitoring procedures and test results are maintained.

⦁ Review customer feedback; Research problem areas; Introduce solutions; Respond to complaints.

⦁ Employs a mindset of best practices and continuous improvement; Apply that to processes/policies/systems.

⦁ Communicate effectively all issues concerning food safety, compliance, process, and quality control programs with management staff.

REQUIREMENTS include a Bachelor's degree or higher in the area of poultry, meat, or food science plus 3-5 years of experience.  Specifically:

⦁ Previous experience in a Quality or Food Safety Supervisory role is required. 

⦁ Previous experience as a Food Safety Manager in a poultry processing environment is preferred.

⦁ HACCP certification and strong HACCP and regulatory skills.

⦁ Knowledge of poultry processing principles.
