Job SummaryThe Principal Food Scientist, Dairy Products Innovation leads the company’s efforts in the development, enhancement, and evolution of dairy-related products. This position works closely with a range of internal and external collaborators to bring innovative dairy solutions to market, ensuring alignment with broader business goals. The role requires expertise in the operational aspects of product development and the ability to navigate complex situations with creativity and strategic thinking.

Essential Functions

  • Provide deep expertise in dairy product development and process technologies, contributing to product evolution across various dairy categories.
  • Collaborate in the setup of pilot processes and scale-up initiatives, ensuring that conceptual ideas translate into viable commercial products.
  • Develop and refine product formulas and processes that meet evolving business and innovation needs.
  • Independently manage and execute projects related to new and improved products, driving progress from concept to delivery.
  • Identify and develop innovative solutions to enhance the functionality and quality of dairy products.
  • Work across multiple teams to identify new opportunities for product innovation and improvement.
  • Explore and support new research initiatives that align with evolving industry trends and market demands.
  • Engage with external experts and partners as necessary to bring fresh insights and capabilities to the organization.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Over 10 years of experience in product development, particularly within the dairy sector.
  • Advanced degree in food science, engineering, or a related field; a PhD is advantageous.
  • Expertise in dairy product development and process optimization, with hands-on experience in pilot plant and product scaling efforts.
  • Strong understanding of product formulation, industrial processes, and ingredient functionality.
  • Familiarity with dairy chemistry and complex food systems.
  • Skilled in project management, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous environments and capable of leading through uncertainty.
  • Passionate about bringing innovative ideas to life in fast-paced, deadline-driven contexts.
