Civil Engineer – Power Delivery Projects

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing team supporting power delivery projects. The role will involve technical civil design, coordination across disciplines, and involvement in site development for substations and related infrastructure. This position offers hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle—from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and technical staff.

  • Support technical design for a variety of civil and structural engineering projects.

  • Perform planning-phase work including site research, feasibility studies, and early-stage engineering input.

  • Execute civil engineering design tasks including site layout, grading, drainage, paving, and erosion control.

  • Design stormwater management systems using hydrology/hydraulics modeling tools; prepare SWPPP reports.

  • Interpret geotechnical reports and subsurface data for site and foundation design.

  • Assist in structural analysis using finite element software such as STAAD.

  • Contribute to foundation design including shallow pads, spread footings, and pier/caisson types.

  • Prepare permitting packages and supporting documentation in accordance with state/local requirements.

  • Write and review technical reports, specifications, and design narratives.

  • Participate in internal QA/QC reviews and ensure accuracy and compliance of civil design work.

  • Assist with cost estimating and construction document preparation.

  • Visit project sites for field assessment, client interaction, and construction coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • EIT certification required; intent to obtain P.E. license within 12–24 months.

  • 2–3 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, including Hydraflow tools (Hydrographs, Express, Storm Sewers).

  • Experience in site design, land development, stormwater and drainage design.

  • Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the company in client and public meetings.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% annually.
