Reporting to: Equipment Engineering Manager

 

Description:

Our client is a well-established, global leader in the design, development and construction of specialty machinery, dies and processing systems.  We are looking to add an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to our growing team to help advance development of our product line, systems and applications.  On a daily basis, the successful candidate will support engineering and development of machine components, systems and assemblies related to polymer processing and manufacturing equipment.  Qualified candidates will possess strong communication skills, a can-do attitude, a high degree of mechanical acumen, personal discipline and a solid understanding of the design release process.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $70000-90000

Position Requirements:

  • BSME from a 4+ year accredited university
  • 3+ years working experience as a Mechanical / Design / Applications Engineer
  • Experience using Solidworks to generate 3D models and 2D drawings
  • Team player with strong mechanical practical knowledge
  • Experienced problem solver with demonstrated hands-on experience

 

Expectations Include:

  • Supporting the Equipment Engineering Manager and Mechanical Engineering Lead to facilitate high quality and on-time delivery of engineering and design products
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers and technicians to provide subject matter expertise

·         Providing technical input to optimize electro-mechanical systems for safety, durability, reliability and cost

  • Supporting continuous improvement and efficiency optimization studies
  • Ability to conduct and support design reviews both on-site and at customer locations
  • Performing and documenting calculations to support design and new product development
  • Developing drawings, schematics and diagrams in accordance with applicable standards
  • Creating and maintaining BOM’s
  • Supporting Purchasing to develop purchased parts specifications
  • Supporting Sales with development of cost estimates and quotations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Preferred Attributes:

·         Experience with FEA simulation tools related to product design and/or electro-mechanical systems

·         Experience performing kinematic studies and motion simulation

·         Experience performing tolerance stacks and analyzing results

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products

·         Familiarity with program management, time management, planning and scheduling

·         Familiarity with Quality Management systems (ISO-9001, TS-16949, etc)

·         Experience with GD&T and component inspection methodology
