Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join their team, responsible for maintaining and servicing multiple properties across Connecticut. This role involves performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage tasks across multiple sites effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Repairs: Perform repairs on fixtures, equipment, and structural components, such as doors, windows, drywall, and flooring.
Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and systems.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and resolve issues effectively.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
Recordkeeping: Document maintenance and repair activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventative tasks.
Collaboration: Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a multi-site setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA, or electrical) are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license for travel between sites.
Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call for emergencies.
