Position:  Building Maintenance Technician        Shift: 1st | Hours: 7 :00AM - 3:30PM Type: Full-Time | Mode: Contract Pay Scale: $18hr

Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Building Maintenance Technician to join their team, responsible for maintaining and servicing multiple properties across Connecticut. This role involves performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage tasks across multiple sites effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
  • General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Repairs: Perform repairs on fixtures, equipment, and structural components, such as doors, windows, drywall, and flooring.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and systems.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and resolve issues effectively.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Recordkeeping: Document maintenance and repair activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventative tasks.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a multi-site setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA, or electrical) are highly desirable.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license for travel between sites.
  • Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call for emergencies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software.
