CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY - MID-LEVEL

Location: Chicago, IL

 

Our client, a highly-regarded AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its nationally recognized Construction Law Practice Group in Chicago.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar Membership in Illinois required.
  • 2+ years of substantive construction law or equivalent complex litigation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience litigating construction disputes, including delay and disruption claims, payment disputes such as mechanic’s liens, bond, and stop notice claims, product claims, and breach of contract claims.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with broad litigation experience, including motion practice, discovery, and a keen interest in developing expertise in construction law.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong references.
  • Prior AmLaw 100 experience and/or judicial clerkship experience preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel clients on a wide array of construction law matters, including contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution (ADR and litigation).
  • Represent clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings and litigation involving construction disputes in state and federal courts.
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation, with a focus on resolving disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with a highly experienced team of attorneys on complex and high-stakes construction law cases.

Compensation is competitive, ranging from $235,000 to $365,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
