About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to join our team in Lindenwold, NJ. The Safety Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for developing, overseeing, and maintaining all safety programs, regulatory compliance, and safety policies within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in safety regulations, proven leadership qualities, and hands-on experience in an industrial setting. You will be the driving force behind our safety culture, ensuring a secure and compliant workplace for all employees.
What You'll Do:
Manage, develop, and continuously review all regulatory programs (e.g., OSHA) and plant-specific safety policies to ensure compliance and best practices.
Oversee all aspects of the Workers' Compensation program, including managing cases, facilitating doctor visits, coordinating light-duty assignments, and providing financial forecasting.
Design, assign, track, and report on all regulatory and safety training programs for employees at all levels.
Lead hazard identification efforts, conduct regular plant audits, develop corrective action plans, and track solutions to completion.
Manage the Health & Safety budget, including procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety supplies, and first aid materials.
Prepare and present comprehensive weekly and monthly reports on all safety program metrics, incident trends, and key performance indicators.
Act as a Medical First Responder, providing initial first aid and emergency care as needed.
Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and manage the corrective action process to prevent recurrence.
Perform thorough safety reviews for all Management of Change (MOC) requests to ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
Partner with the plant leadership team to foster a proactive and positive safety culture.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of safety management and leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, NFPA standards, and Workers' Compensation laws.
Proven expertise in hazard recognition, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
Current certification or demonstrated knowledge and experience in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a data-driven approach.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This role operates in a typical office setting; however, regular presence on the manufacturing floor is required.
While in the plant, you may be exposed to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, and dust/mist/gas/fumes.
The role requires extensive walking or climbing and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Minimal travel is required (0 – 10 days per year).
