We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Sr Urban Planner/Principal Planner/Director of Urban Planning in Mount Laurel. This role demands a visionary leader who can drive innovative urban planning strategies and foster sustainable community development.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of urban planning principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale urban projects. You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private developers, to create and implement comprehensive urban plans that enhance the quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of urban planning projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform planning decisions.
  • Engage with community members and stakeholders to gather input and build consensus.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior planning staff.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in urban planning or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and other planning software.
  • Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred.
