Harvest Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary:The Harvest Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership to the Maintenance Department and report directly to the Harvest Maintenance Superintendent. This role is responsible for maintaining the health of assets through an effective maintenance program.

Cross-functional teamwork is essential, requiring collaboration with personnel from operations, maintenance, food safety, and safety teams to support plant initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise plant maintenance personnel and oversee planning, organizing, coordinating, scheduling, and assigning work related to breakdowns, preventive maintenance, predictive technologies, projects, and daily work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external maintenance regulations.
  • Provide immediate response to operational maintenance concerns, coordinating with operations to minimize production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of management, operations, and maintenance, adhering to company policies, procedures, and property loss programs.
  • Supervise repairs and projects completed by maintenance personnel and contractors, ensuring quality work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Plan and control expenditures in alignment with the department's operating budget.
  • Uphold safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with all maintenance-related regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Educational background in mechanical or engineering technology (diploma or degree), with an Electrician license or equivalent considered an asset.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility, preferably in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous process manufacturing, including equipment overhaul, machining, pneumatics, hydraulics, piping repairs, and maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Experience driving preventive maintenance systems.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including afternoons and weekends.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
