Job Title: Ground Beef Maintenance Superintendent

Location: Onsite

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise technician team members and provide leadership and direction to the plant maintenance tech department.
  • Oversee day-to-day repairs of electrical and/or electronic components on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems within all production areas.
  • Assist in developing preventative electrical maintenance programs, ordering parts and materials, maintaining and organizing inventory, and entering work orders for maintenance tasks.
  • Manage repairs and preventive maintenance on all weighing equipment within the plant, ensuring daily calibration checks are done according to standards, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and associated systems.
  • Oversee instrumentation, motor control circuits, alarm systems, and scales.
  • Control all new equipment installations and conduct wiring.
  • Supervise, plan, and implement maintenance activities in the plant to maximize production while adhering to standard safety practices, environmental, and legal requirements.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goals.
  • Participate in the plant HAZMAT team.
  • Schedule and direct workforce, assigning projects to appropriate personnel, tracking attendance in the Kronos system, and correcting any errors when necessary.
  • Conduct safety meetings and safety audits.
  • Manage maintenance tech department costs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent and Plant Engineer.

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or technical schooling degree with a mechanical or electrical emphasis.
  • 2 years of directly related technical experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Welding and electrical experience required.

Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, flexible hours, and some weekends.
  • Must be able to write and speak English.
  • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations.
  • Strong leadership and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage conflict.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 60 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of HACCP.
