Our client is a billion dollar plus “B to C” software platform seeking a VP of Finance for Enterprise Forecasting and Reporting. Below is the pathway to success.

What are the top things this person needs to do in the next 12 months to be successful in the role?
● Ensure that the monthly forecast integrates inputs across Revenue, Opex, Capex, and Cash — and that those inputs are vetted, consistent, and understood.
● Own and orchestrate the consolidated Enterprise forecast
● Lead the coordination and finalization of the monthly forecast cycle, acting as both traffic controller and final gut check.
● Be a central voice in forecasting meetings with the CFO, CEO, and business leaders — translating what’s changed, what’s expected, and what needs action.
● Track in-month performance against forecast and help create narrative context that explains variances and performance dynamics.

Redesign and implement a simplified, top-down forecasting model that enables clear and actionable Enterprise-level insight
● Build a clean, intuitive 80/20 P&L model that captures the big levers of the business and is built for speed, iteration, and executive decision-making.
● Integrate this model into the company’s monthly forecast process — including syncing timelines, checkpoints, inputs, and expectations across FP&A.
● Leverage the model as a lightweight but powerful engagement tool to pressure-test key forecast assumptions with the CEO and other senior leaders on a high-velocity basis — using these conversations to shape and inform the more detailed, bottom-up monthly forecasting cycle.
● Establish ownership, accountability, and documentation around how the model is maintained, reviewed, and updated.

Build and operationalize a unified Enterprise reporting and data strategy
● Design and implement a scalable reporting architecture that enables accurate, timely, and insight-rich visibility into Enterprise performance across revenue, costs, and contribution margin.
● Define the core set of reports, dashboards, and pacing materials that become the single source of truth for Enterprise financial performance, integrating inputs across revenue forecasting, Tech Ops, procurement, and cost management.
● Lead the development and rollout of recurring weekly and monthly reports with clean design, thoughtful commentary, and clear accountability for inputs.
● Partner with Data, Systems, and other Finance teams to ensure alignment on metric definitions, data hygiene, and reliable pipelines — ensuring consistent use of shared data assets (e.g., SQL tables, PBCS inputs, and reporting tools).
● Build team muscle around analytical depth and “owning the narrative”; ensuring the reporting is forward-looking and used to shape decisions and resource allocation.

Support strategic vendor management and Tech Ops finance
● Step into day-to-day leadership of procurement finance and vendor support — organizing processes, calendars, negotiation strategies, and analysis.
● Oversee models and frameworks to evaluate vendor-level ROI and optimize spend.
● Partner with Procurement to deliver savings and improve discipline, even absent a formal cost-cutting initiative.
● Serve as a thought partner to Tech Ops on contract structure, cost optimization, and vendor selection.

Build out a high-performing, right-sized team to support Enterprise forecasting and vendor finance
● Assess the scope of responsibilities across Enterprise forecasting, reporting, and procurement finance, and define the team structure required to execute effectively.
● Identify gaps in skill sets, capacity, and coverage — and develop a resourcing plan that balances ambition, speed, and pragmatism.
● Prioritize key hires and partner with the Head of FP&A and CFO to recruit top talent.
● Create clear role definitions, expectations, and onboarding plans for new hires.
● Build a culture of accountability, excellence, and team ownership from Day 1 — with strong performance management practices and high standards for quality and reliability.
● Leverage the initial Tech Ops Finance Manager to maintain momentum while scaling, but don’t hesitate to roll up sleeves in the interim.

Requirements:
● 15-20 years of relevant experience in enterprise FP&A
● Advanced degree preferred (MBA, Master's degree)
● Experience working with publicly traded organizations
