IT Manufacturing Manager

Position Summary

A leading global provider in the Manufacturing & Production industry, specializing in high-value metal products, is seeking a highly experienced IT Manufacturing Manager. This is a critical leadership and technical role responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing the core IT environments that support large-scale, 24/7 manufacturing operations at the company’s largest North American facility.

The ideal candidate will be a strong technical leader who can bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions, ensuring operational stability, project excellence, and strict compliance with financial and regulatory standards.

Location & Commitment

  • Location: Davenport area, Iowa, United States (Quad Cities region)

  • 100% On-Site 

  • Travel: Occasionally required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 + Bonus + Relocation

Management & Leadership

  • Team Direction: Manages and directs production support teams, project deployment teams, and offshore development teams.

  • Operational Oversight: Manages the site's critical IT environments and manufacturing applications necessary for continuous plant operation.

  • Performance: Guides team activities to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and customer satisfaction targets are consistently met.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Aligns priorities and maintains strong collaboration with business functional owners, Global Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, and the plant leadership team.

  • Talent Management: Establishes and maintains relationships with third-party suppliers to identify and on-board qualified contract resources.

Project & Financial Accountability

  • Project Delivery: Guides and directs project team activities to ensure delivery is on-time, on-cost, and on-quality.

  • Strategic Planning: Partners with business leaders to prioritize project needs and align project deliverables across multiple business stakeholders.

  • Budgeting: Develops and manages capital budget request documentation and proactively manages capital spend processes, including monthly capital expense forecasts for responsible projects.

  • Risk Management: Proactively performs risk management to minimize project risks and promptly addresses issues, escalating appropriately.

  • Innovation: Inspires the team to generate and deliver new value-add ideas, initiating innovation and change that delivers measurable value.

Compliance & Technical Systems

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures project solutions and operational activities align with corporate compliance standards (SOX Audit, ITAR, DFARS, etc.).
  • Audit Support: Supports Compliance activities by performing annual system testing, assisting SOX and Internal Audit teams, and performing Disaster Recovery testing as required.

  • System Integration: Manages manufacturing application integrations with other enterprise systems.

  • Technical Expertise: Experienced with B2B Commerce partnerships and EDI deployments. Develops an in-depth understanding of the business processes in the Manufacturing area.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Experience: 5 years minimum experience in a similar technical leadership or IT Manufacturing role (5+ to 7 years preferred).

  • ITAR Requirement: This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. Person status (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee). Verification of employment eligibility is required.

Technical Skills

Required Technical Experience:

COBOL experience is a must.

  • Database: Working knowledge of SQL, PLSQL, and database query tools (SQL Developer and/or SQL+).

  • Development: Experience with modern development languages (e.g., VB.Net, C#, Java, or C).

  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with Manufacturing IT systems and manufacturing systems that support HR functions (like overtime and attendance).

  • Leadership: Effective people and team leadership skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and strong business process and manufacturing knowledge.
