\n\n\nThe Estimator plays a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil, earthwork, and underground utility projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction means and methods, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and estimating teams.
\n\nChampion Safety as the highest priority in all estimating and project planning activities.
\nReview and analyze plans, specifications, and engineering documents to determine scope, materials, and methods.
\nPerform detailed quantity take-offs using computer-aided tools, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
\nEvaluate site conditions, constructability, and equipment utilization to optimize cost and efficiency.
\nPrepare production-based cost estimates and assist in developing construction schedules.
\nSupport the preparation of bid documents, proposals, and prequalification packages.
\nAttend pre-bid site visits and perform site investigations as needed.
\nParticipate in the transition process for awarded projects, ensuring smooth handoff to Operations.
\nContribute to pursuit and proposal strategy for regional and national opportunities.
\nCollaborate in a team-based environment, maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and partners.
\n3–7 years of experience in heavy civil, highway, earthwork, or underground wet utilities construction.
\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
\nProficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel/Word.
\nFamiliarity with Primavera (P6) scheduling software preferred.
\nStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
\nExceptional attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality estimates.
\nPositive attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\nSelf-motivated team player with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
\nMust possess a valid Driver’s License and be willing to travel for pre-bid site visits when required.
\nBase Salary: $85,000 – $150,000 (DOE)
\nOffice-based environment: prolonged sitting, computer use, and periodic standing or reaching.
\nOccasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel/Word.
Familiarity with Primavera (P6) scheduling software preferred.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
