Solutions Specialist (Network & Systems)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Specialist to design, implement, and support advanced IT infrastructure solutions for our clients. This role has a strong focus to supports Fortinet-based network clients for both ongoing support and project delivery. The ideal candidate excels in hands-on project execution, Tier-3 escalation support, and ongoing client consultation across networking, cybersecurity, wireless, virtualization, and Microsoft 365 technologies. Fortinet experience and certifications are strongly preferred and considered a significant asset.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Implementation

·       Design and deploy secure data centre, LAN/WAN, and network security architectures.

·       Implement Fortinet solutions including FortiGate firewalls, HA clusters, IPsec/SSL VPN, BGP routing, and ADVPN.

·       Analyze and deploy enterprise wireless networks using predictive design tools and high-availability switching.

Cyber Incident Response & Recovery

·       Serve as an on-site technical resource during cyber incidents.

·       Restore and rebuild core systems including Active Directory, storage, virtualization hosts, VPNs, and firewalls.

·       Reconfigure SAN/iSCSI storage and assist in recovery of virtualized environments.

Client Consulting & Technical Leadership

·       Provide monthly technical guidance including patch and vulnerability advisories.

·       Deliver Tier-3 support for complex systems and networking challenges.

·       Assist clients in migrating identity and access management services, including transitions to Microsoft 365 MFA.

Systems Integration & Virtualization

·       Support and upgrade VMware vSphere environments with minimal disruption.

·       Create and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using Veeam Backup & Replication.

Enterprise Application & Infrastructure Support

·       Support deployment and integration of enterprise software systems.

·       Develop custom reporting, document templates, and database integrations.

·       Provide second- and third-level support for server, network, and application issues.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

Fortinet (preferred)

·       Fortinet Certified Professional (NSE4)

·       Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (NSE7)

·       Fortinet Certified Associate & Fundamentals

Wireless (preferred):

·       CWNA, CWDP (CWAP an asset)

Other optional:

·       Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)

Technical Skills

·       FortiGate, HA, IPsec/SSL VPN, ADVPN, BGP

·       VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi upgrades

·       Microsoft 365 administration and MFA migrations

·       Cisco CCNA/CCNP Certification would be an asset

·       SAN/iSCSI storage, virtualization infrastructure

·       Crystal Reports; basic .NET development

·       L3/L4 switching and enterprise wireless design

·       Minimum 6 years technical and network experience managing complex IT environments, primarily network infrastructure.
