Client Location: Remote (Occasional travel to Saskatchewan required)
Engagement Period: April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027, with up to three (3) optional one‑year extensions
Working Hours: Standard business hours as defined by client. Remote resource permitted but must be located and authorized to work in Canada.
The client is seeking one (1) Disaster Recovery Consultant to support the IT Service Continuity branch. The engagement will focus on enhancing eHealth’s Disaster Recovery (DR) program, increasing program maturity, and developing processes and tools that ensure resilience against IT disasters. Candidates must meet the following critical requirements to be considered:
Requirements (Mandatory):
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in program management with a focus on disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Must be located in and permitted to work in Canada.
- Resource must not be proposed by more than one proponent and each proponent may submit only one resource.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee a comprehensive Disaster Recovery program to ensure resilience and continuity of client services.
- Develop and monitor a dedicated practice area for DR performance evaluation.
- Drive ongoing improvements in disaster recovery methodologies and response effectiveness.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate DR principles into organizational strategies.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to ensure adherence to DR best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend DR technologies, standards, and methodologies.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings related to DR processes.
- Assess DR performance metrics and ensure effective tracking and reporting.
- Support rapid, coordinated recovery actions during incidents.
- Contribute to developing tools, documentation, testing strategies, and maturity‑improvement initiatives.
Required Experience and Skills (Rated):
- Demonstrated experience establishing or enhancing DR programs for large organizations or government entities.
- Strong ability to monitor and assess DR solutions, performance metrics, and outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of current DR best practices and emerging technologies.
- Proven leadership capabilities in cross‑functional environments.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training on DR strategies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and work effectively under pressure.
- PMP designation is considered an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Remote resources must be available for occasional travel to Saskatchewan.
- May require completion of mandatory client training.
- Must supply own communication device and Windows‑based computer with standard applications.
