US Farathane is seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Automation Technician. The position is responsible for maintaining, repair machinery, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated systems and equipment in plant. This role ensures that automated machinery, robotics, and control systems function efficiently to support production operations while minimizing downtime. This person will be required to be on 24-hour call.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on automated equipment, PLCs, HMI’s, robotic systems, and other control systems.
Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software components of automated equipment.
Modify and update PLC programs, HMIs, and other automation software to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity.
Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated systems and retrofits for existing equipment.
Calibrate, test, and maintain sensors, actuators, motor drives, and other control devices.
Work closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to resolve automation-related issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, programming changes, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.
Adhere to plant safety procedures and provide training to other maintenance personal on automation -related tasks.
Be able to do paperwork that is required on the job: PM documents, etc.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance.
Recommend machine repairs, issue work orders and do follow up.
Troubleshoot plastic injection molding machines and support equipment such as granulators, thermolators, material dryers, and D.M.E.’s.
Troubleshoot secondary and auxiliary equipment, replacing sensors, etc. as need to maintain daily production.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
2+years of experience in automation maintenance, industrial controls, or a similar role in manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
Understanding of SCADA systems, robotics, and industrial networking.
Knowledge of electrical schematics, ladder logic, and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with variable frequency drives, servo systems, and industrial sensors.
Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
Read and understand blueprint, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
Read electrical prints.
