Hybrid Legal Assistant – Litigation (On Site First 90 days)

Location
San Francisco, CA. First 90 days are in-office 5 days per week for training and integration. After 90 days, the schedule becomes hybrid with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
Note
Must have 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary supporting complex litigation, plus advanced Microsoft Word formatting skills.

Job Description
- Prepare, format, revise, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence
- Apply advanced Microsoft Word formatting including tables, numbering, styles, redlines, TOCs, TOAs, and headers/footers
- Proofread for grammar, accuracy, and formatting consistency to meet court-ready standards
- Partner closely with attorneys and paralegals to meet deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Assist with attorney time entry and case billing support
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical files, including charts, indices, and administrative case materials
- Prepare electronic and hard-copy binders, including covers, spines, and indices
- Support document production needs including printing and assembling filings
- Use document management systems and assist with basic troubleshooting in Word, Excel, and PDF tools
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or legal word processor
- Strong experience supporting complex litigation
- Advanced Microsoft Word formatting proficiency
- Excellent proofreading, editing, and attention to detail
- Experience with document management systems (NetDocuments or similar)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
