Location
On-site, full-time in the field across Chicagoland (you’ll start your day at the jobsite and work closely with the project team).
Note: This role is a fit for either:
- A recent U.S. bachelor’s grad in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or
- Someone with 1+ year of heavy civil/heavy highway construction experience
Please do not submit candidates who:
- Have a master’s degree in civil engineering, or
- Did not complete their undergraduate degree in the U.S.

Job Description
- Support heavy highway projects as a Field Engineer (bridges/roadways/IDOT-style work)
- Work daily with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and crews
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper certifications per contract requirements
- Maintain daily field documentation (reports, schedules, photos, tracking)
- Monitor subcontractor progress and support schedule execution
- Help manage and balance concrete deliveries and pours
- Assist with closeout tasks, quantities, and job cost reporting
- Work outdoors year-round; occasional second shift during phase changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a U.S. university
- 0–5 years of experience (field/engineering internships/co-ops count for entry level)
- Exposure to heavy highway / heavy civil construction is strongly preferred
- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
- Comfortable working on active jobsites and collaborating with field crews
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam familiarity is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to job sites
