Location

Remote role within Florida, with required travel to Key West approximately every other month for 3–4 days at a time for court appearances (all travel expenses paid by our client). Ideally based in the Orlando or South Florida area.

Note

This role requires recent, hands-on criminal defense experience on the defense side only. Plaintiff or prosecution backgrounds will not be considered.

Job Description

  • Handle complex criminal defense matters from intake through resolution
  • Appear in court regularly and manage hearings, motions, and trials
  • Travel to Key West approximately every other month for court appearances lasting 3–4 days
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients throughout their cases
  • Work closely with the firm’s lead attorney as a trusted senior associate
  • Maintain organized case files and consistent follow-through
  • Contribute to a collaborative, low-ego team environment

Qualifications

  • 6+ recent years of criminal defense experience
  • Defense-side practice only
  • Strong courtroom and litigation background
  • Florida Bar admission in good standing
  • Stable employment history
  • Comfortable supporting a lead attorney rather than seeking partnership
  • Willingness to travel periodically to Key West
