Note: Must be actively licensed in Florida and have 2+ years of litigation experience (community association litigation preferred; business litigation experience required).

Job Description

  • Analyze community association legal issues and draft clear legal opinions and practical recommendations
  • Interpret and draft amendments to governing documents (declarations, bylaws, covenants, rules)
  • Enforce governing documents through litigation and dispute resolution
  • Prepare for and attend board and membership meetings and advise on strategy, risk, and compliance
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, business-minded counsel
  • Conduct detailed legal research and draft memoranda of law
  • Draft and manage litigation work product: pleadings, discovery, motions, and legal briefs
  • Review and revise service contracts and vendor agreements
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Perform significant document review using electronic review platforms and document management systems

Qualifications

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar
  • 2–4 years of legal experience; direct community association litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in business litigation
  • Strong skills in research, drafting, and oral advocacy
  • Excellent client service, communication, and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; experience with Summation and iManage is a plus
  • Experience conducting meaningful document review using electronic platforms
