Note: Must have 2+ years of Illinois workers’ compensation defense experience and must be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Job Description
- Handle Illinois workers’ compensation defense matters from initial assignment through resolution
- Manage hearings, pre-trials, status calls, motion practice, and case strategy
- Conduct legal research and apply medical and factual analysis to support litigation
- Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and claim professionals
- Draft reports, pleadings, correspondence, and other case-related documents
- Manage deadlines, caseload activity, and litigation strategy across multiple files
- Work closely with experienced attorneys while continuing to grow your own independent caseload
- Contribute to strong client relationships through responsiveness, sound judgment, and practical advice
Qualifications
- 2+ years of directly relevant Illinois workers’ compensation defense experience
- Active Illinois bar license
- Strong writing, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines effectively
- Professional, dependable, and client-service-oriented approach
- Book of business is a plus, but not required
