Note: Must have 2+ years of Illinois workers’ compensation defense experience and must be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Job Description

  • Handle Illinois workers’ compensation defense matters from initial assignment through resolution
  • Manage hearings, pre-trials, status calls, motion practice, and case strategy
  • Conduct legal research and apply medical and factual analysis to support litigation
  • Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and claim professionals
  • Draft reports, pleadings, correspondence, and other case-related documents
  • Manage deadlines, caseload activity, and litigation strategy across multiple files
  • Work closely with experienced attorneys while continuing to grow your own independent caseload
  • Contribute to strong client relationships through responsiveness, sound judgment, and practical advice

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of directly relevant Illinois workers’ compensation defense experience
  • Active Illinois bar license
  • Strong writing, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines effectively
  • Professional, dependable, and client-service-oriented approach
  • Book of business is a plus, but not required
