Location

This is a hybrid position based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with flexibility for a mix of in-office collaboration and remote work.

Note

Candidates must have an active North Carolina Bar license and 3+ years of estate planning and probate experience outside of student internships.

Job Description

  • Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other estate planning documents.
  • Counsel clients on estate planning strategies tailored to their family, assets, goals, and long-term needs.
  • Handle probate, estate administration, and trust administration matters from start to finish.
  • Guide clients through sensitive and often emotional legal issues with empathy, professionalism, and confidence.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other professionals throughout the estate and probate process.
  • Identify and help resolve issues involving estate disputes, fiduciary concerns, and trust or estate administration challenges.
  • Work closely with attorneys, owners, and team members to deliver excellent client service and support the firm’s continued growth.
  • Contribute ideas, process improvements, and practical solutions in an entrepreneurial law firm environment.

Qualifications

  • Active North Carolina Bar license required.
  • 3+ years of estate planning and probate experience required, not including student internships.
  • Experience drafting estate planning documents, handling probate matters, and advising clients through estate or trust administration.
  • Strong client communication skills and a compassionate, service-focused approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, legal judgment, writing skills, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a growing law firm environment.
  • Fiduciary litigation or trust and estate dispute experience is a plus.
