Accounting Manager – Hybrid

We are a $150 million healthcare company located in Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs, seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. This is a full-time, direct-hire, hybrid role.

About the Role

The Accounting Manager will oversee financial reporting consolidations and corporate accounting functions while managing a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise one Staff Accountant and one Accounting Clerk.
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, payroll taxes, sales taxes, budgeting, accruals, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.
  • Lead month-end close for multiple entities, including:
    • Journal entry preparation and review.
    • Maintaining detailed spreadsheets (fixed assets, prepaids).
    • Monthly account reconciliations.
    • Preparing consolidated financial statements and KPI reporting.
    • Budget-to-actuals reporting.
  • Support the annual external audit process.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and analysis.
  • Drive process improvement and ERP enhancements.
  • Work with the Controller and CFO to document and implement internal controls.
  • Revenue Recognition: Gather financial data from multiple reports across many healthcare providers, prepare revenue spreadsheets for profit-sharing, and upload journal entries into Sage Intacct.
  • Financial Analysis: Address revenue recognition issues, analyze true collections vs. top-line billing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a must.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance.
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, no macros).
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
