Ascension Search Partners has been exclusively engaged by a highly sophisticated private investment firm to hire their Chief Executive Officer. This individual will be responsible for leading a complex, multi-entity organization encompassing private investments, structured financial activities, philanthropic initiatives, and asset oversight.

This is a rare opportunity to build and professionalize an institutional-grade platform operating at the intersection of private equity, alternative investing, and principal-led enterprise. The environment is dynamic, fast-moving, and intellectually rigorous — requiring a leader who thrives in complexity and brings clarity, structure, and disciplined execution.

The CEO will serve as the senior advisor to the Principal, translating long-term vision, governance objectives, and financial priorities into scalable execution. The mandate includes creating institutional processes, building a high-caliber team, and ensuring the platform operates with independence, accountability, and operational excellence.

This role requires the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on leadership in an entrepreneurial setting where investment sophistication meets real-world agility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and leading a high-performing team.

  • Implementing systems, reporting frameworks, and scalable operating processes.

  • Elevating performance standards while preserving flexibility appropriate to a principal-led platform.

  • Establishing governance frameworks across multiple entities and investment vehicles.

  • Overseeing coordination of legal, tax, regulatory, and compliance matters in partnership with advisors.

  • Strengthening enterprise risk management across financial, operational, reputational, and personal domains.

  • Driving clarity and alignment between strategy, execution, and fiduciary responsibilities.

  • Serving as senior integrator across investment activities.

  • Overseeing portfolio-level strategy, liquidity planning, performance monitoring, and risk assessment.

  • Supporting complex structuring, negotiations, and documentation alongside external counsel.

  • Engaging in investment committee dialogue and high-level capital allocation discussions.

  • Act as trusted advisor in aligning legacy objectives with operating strategy.

  • Navigate sensitive and high-discretion matters with judgment and confidentiality.

Qualifications and Credentials

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience with a minimum of 3 years in a senior executive role within private equity, alternative investments, asset management, or an institutional family office environment.

  • Demonstrated oversight of complex capital structures and multi-entity financial reporting.

  • Strong understanding of accounting, tax strategy, capital markets, private investments, and enterprise risk.

  • Proven ability to scale teams and infrastructure within a growing platform.

  • Experience working closely with founders, principals, or ultra-high-net-worth stakeholders is highly valued.

  • Lead with humility, resilience, and perspective.
