CooperDouglas is partnering with a leading manufacturing technology organization to identify an accomplished Vice President of Accounting. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive strategic business initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive experience in manufacturing environments, technical accounting, and building high-performing accounting organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with SOX (if applicable).
  • Partner with operations and executive leadership to improve financial performance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities in collaboration with Finance leadership.
  • Oversee external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and ERP optimization.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
  • Significant experience within a manufacturing or manufacturing technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience leading large accounting organizations and developing high-performing teams.
  • ERP implementation or optimization experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Manufacturing cost accounting expertise.
  • Multi-entity or multi-site accounting experience.
  • M&A integration experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting private equity-backed or publicly traded organizations is desirable.
