A leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider, has retained our firm to identify an experienced Director of Pricing to lead pricing development and support profitable growth across warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, and value-added logistics services.
This is a highly visible position reporting to the CFO and will partner closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, FP&A, and Marketing to develop competitive, accurate, and profitable customer solutions.
The ideal Director of Pricing is a hands-on pricing professional who has built complex pricing models within a 3PL environment and understands both the financial and operational components of logistics pricing.
Responsibilities

Build detailed pricing and financial models for warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, and integrated logistics solutions.

Lead pricing strategy and development for RFPs, RFQs, contract renewals, and new business opportunities.

Analyze labor, transportation, occupancy, equipment, technology, overhead, and other operational cost drivers to develop profitable pricing recommendations.

Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, FP&A, and Marketing throughout the proposal development process.

Evaluate profitability through financial modeling, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and margin assessments.

Present pricing recommendations, business cases, and financial analyses to executive leadership.

Support customer negotiations by providing financial guidance on complex commercial opportunities.

Develop and maintain standardized pricing methodologies, templates, governance, and approval processes.

Monitor pricing performance against actual operating results and recommend adjustments as market conditions and operating costs change.

Identify opportunities to improve pricing accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall profitability.

Create executive reporting, dashboards, and pricing analytics utilizing Power BI and other reporting tools.

Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive pricing strategies.

Serve as the primary owner of pricing models, assumptions, financial outputs, and proposal economics.

Collaborate across multiple departments to ensure pricing aligns with operational capabilities and financial objectives.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in pricing, finance, FP&A, commercial strategy, logistics, transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, or supply chain.

Demonstrated experience within a third-party logistics (3PL), transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, or distribution environment.

Proven ability to develop complex pricing and financial models supporting large customer opportunities.

Experience supporting RFPs, RFQs, proposal development, and contract pricing.

Strong understanding of logistics cost drivers, cost accounting, contribution margin, operating margin, and profitability analysis.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with extensive financial modeling experience.

Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.

Familiarity with WMS, TMS, and other logistics technologies is preferred.

Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to translate operational requirements into scalable, profitable pricing solutions.

Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced environment while balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on execution.
Base salary up to $185,000 + a competitive bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
Location: Hybrid, Santa Fe Springs
