Division Finance Director
CooperDouglas is partnering with a market-leading distribution and business services organization to identify a Divisional Finance Director. Reporting into senior finance leadership, this individual will serve as the top finance partner for a major operating division, helping shape business strategy, improve financial performance, and support continued growth across a large, geographically dispersed operation.
This role goes beyond traditional finance. The Divisional Finance Director will be deeply embedded within the business, working side-by-side with operational leadership to evaluate performance, influence strategic decisions, and ensure the division is positioned to achieve both its short and long-term objectives. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys solving business challenges, challenging assumptions, and turning data into actionable strategies.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with divisional leadership to drive financial and operational performance
- Lead the annual planning process, quarterly forecasts, and long-term strategic financial planning
- Provide financial leadership and decision support related to growth initiatives, profitability improvement, and operational execution
- Develop financial models and analyses to evaluate investments, pricing strategies, capital expenditures, and business opportunities
- Monitor key business metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting performance
- Deliver meaningful insights through reporting, dashboards, and performance analysis
- Collaborate with sales, operations, supply chain, and corporate finance teams to support divisional objectives
- Lead monthly business reviews and present financial results and recommendations to senior leadership
- Perform detailed variance analysis and identify the underlying drivers of business performance
- Support resource allocation, capital planning, and strategic investment decisions
- Improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and forecasting accuracy
- Leverage business intelligence tools and analytics to enhance decision-making and visibility
- Serve as a trusted advisor and key member of the divisional leadership team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or similar professional designation preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, operational finance, or commercial finance
- Experience supporting large-scale business units within complex, multi-site organizations
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis
- Proven ability to influence business leaders and drive strategic decision-making
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts
- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools preferred
- Strong executive presence and ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Distribution, logistics, manufacturing, industrial services, or related industry experience preferred
Compensation
Base Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 + 25%
