Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner with a specialized focus on wound care to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is centered on delivering exceptional wound management services to patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing centers within the Spokane area. Core Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct in-depth evaluations of wounds including pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, and other injuries. Develop individualized treatment plans to address patient needs.
  • Treatment and Care: Administer wound care procedures including debridement, application of dressings, and the use of advanced technologies like wound vacuums. Prescribe necessary medications and therapies.
  • Collaborative Care: Engage with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Maintain regular communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper wound care management to encourage healing and prevent further complications.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans using electronic medical record systems.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest in wound care and participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Washington.
  • National board certification (AANP, ANCC) required; wound care certification (CWCN, CWS, or similar) preferred.
  • Proven experience in wound care management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation.
  • Reliable transportation for travel within a 50-mile radius.
