Appellate Associate Attorney

Practice Area: Appellate Litigation for Patent/IP Matters

Location: Washington, D.C.

Salary: $200,000 - $325,000

The successful candidate will also be eligible for a highly competitive clerkship bonus, a discretionary annual bonus, and a full suite of benefits befitting of a biglaw environment

Job Description

The candidate selected for this role will assume a pivotal role within an elite cadre of legal scholars and advocates. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high-stakes legal challenges and shape significant legal precedents. This position entails comprehensive involvement in every facet of the appellate process, from petitioning for certiorari and merits briefing to preparing senior partners for oral argument before federal and state appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States. You will work on a diverse docket of complex appeals that span numerous industries and cutting-edge legal disciplines, demanding the highest level of legal analysis and persuasive advocacy.

 

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top-tier, ABA-accredited law school, graduating with outstanding academic credentials.
  • Completion of one or more clerkships at the U.S. Supreme Court or a federal appellate court is required.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Two to four years of sophisticated litigation experience gained at a leading law firm following the completion of judicial clerkships.
  • A proven record of superlative legal research, analysis, and brief-writing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex legal arguments with clarity and precision.
  • A demonstrated interest and background in complex legal issues; prior experience in matters involving intellectual property or patent law will be viewed favorably.
