Description
As a Senior Financial Analyst – Defense Programs, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional financial management and analysis that directly drives business growth and operational success in a defense manufacturing environment.
You will:
• Perform business analysis and programmatic activities for defense-related programs, providing data-driven insights to program management teams.
• Develop and track budgets to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and alignment with program goals.
• Provide critical electronic systems resources to program management teams to ensure flawless program execution.
• Conduct workforce forecasting to inform program planning and resource allocation.
• Compute Earned Value for multiple funding sources to monitor and improve program performance.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates to guide strategic decision-making.
• Participate in revenue forecasts and monthly analysis of actuals to drive operational excellence.
• Interface with program management and estimating groups for proposal activity, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.
Preferred Knowledge of (or willing to learn)
• Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
• Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
• Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Education and Experience for the Program Financial Analyst
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant finance experience, OR a minimum of 4 years of prior finance experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting, including variance explanations.
• Experience with budgeting and earned value reporting is a plus.
Financial Analyst Required Skills & Abilities
• Expertise in cost/schedule development, budgeting, financial analysis, financial modeling, corporate forecasting, and/or business acquisitions.
• Ability to perform accurate financial calculations for cost/budget analysis.
• Proficiency in handling imported/exported data for reporting and analysis.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and earned value management.
