WAREHOUSE MANAGER SUMMARY:The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the materials receiving, shipping, storage, material handling, kitting and line side replenishment. They are responsible for managing day to day activities as well as continuous improvement within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading operations, inventory control, material handling, material flow, etc. WAREHOUSE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guide and develop supervisors, planners, team leaders, and material handlers.
Responsible for all warehouse activities.
Ensures proper warehousing practices including FIFO and material flow to support production requirements while maintaining quality.
Responsible for accuracy of reporting of receipts, production, scrap and other inventory-related data on the computer to accurately maintain inventory levels of production material.
Coordinates flow of materials or products (i.e. kitting, line side replenishment, route optimization).
Responsible for monitoring the scheduling of incoming production material.
Monitors suppliers and commercial carriers to ensure that delivery schedules are consistently met and any error rectified on a timely basis.
Arranges for and follows up on special pick-ups and deliveries.
Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Develops and implements visual inventory management systems on the production floor.
Assists as required in resolving this disposition of substandard or rejected materials.
Ensures supplies are delivered on time to provide uninterrupted production and shipment of finished goods.
Develop and monitor department KPI's.
Utilizes and practices methods of continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain good employee relations.
Enforces safety compliance by ensuring the proper training is given in OSHA mandated regulations.
Follows safety regulations and enforces compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures, and enforces workers to follow all company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) with a minimum of four years experience in an Automotive environment.
Must have experience in automotive industry.
Material flow and warehouse design experience.
Working knowledge of SAP ERP system.
Lead, motivate, and coach.
Working knowledge with Kanban.
Excellent communication skills cross functionally.
Lean manufacturing experience.
Strong time management skills and customer focus.
Able to work in a fast paced environment.
Strong Sense of Urgency.
