Due to market expansion, our client, an independently-owned provider of pharmacy services to the long-term care market, is seeking candidates for BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE to focus on expansion into rural and metropolitan areas in Northern IL, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
 
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for establishing and developing relationships with long term care providers in these areas.  He or she will be responsible for the development of new business opportunities and closing sales with prospects.  In addition, the individual in this role will serve as the primary business contact for assigned existing clients with the goal of ensuring client satisfaction by building relationships to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.  Major responsibilities include:
  • Developing baseline knowledge of competitors and their capabilities
  • Effectively manage all aspects of day-to-day customer relations by building productive, long-term professional relationships with key personnel
  • Qualifying leads and contacting potential clients through cold calls and emails and present company benefits 
  • Identify client needs, suggest appropriate products/services and customize product solutions to increase customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate the involvement of pharmacy personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Proactively work with company leaders to develop a strategic account planning process with mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable business growth and strategic objectives within account base.
  • Work with Marketing and Business Development in creating and delivering new business presentations, proposals, and competitive bids for prospects developed elsewhere.
  • Serve as Project Manager for onboarding new clients and for key initiatives of existing customers as needed. 
  • Learn and maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of LTC pharmacy, facility operations, and regulatory issues. 
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of all sales and customer service activities using CRM software

Requirements:

  • Experience selling services to Long Term Care communities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a results-oriented role
  • At least five years of sales/account management experience, preferably in long-term care or pharmacy 
  • Ability to organize and follow up in a relationship-driven, long sales-cycle setting
  • Skilled in building long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Project management experience in a team environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office. CRM experience a plus.
  • Self-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented, with the ability to achieve success with minimal direction.
  • Handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
A competitive salary plus commission and benefits will be offered to the successful candidate.  This is a home-based remote position with travel in IL, WI and MN.
