Our client, an innovative independently-owned long-term care pharmacy, is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Manager to add to their team.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations and direct pharmacy staff on scheduling, purchasing, clinical matters and other tasks
  • Work with pharmacy management to ensure implementation of quality and cost containment strategies
  • Provide clinical and technical support as needed
  • Respond to customers and pharmacy staff, interpreting needs and offering information and advice
  • Maintain patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication 
  • Document all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the team and patients and their family members in the pharmacy system
  • Obtain and maintain all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and corporate compliance policy
  • Implement policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biologicals, as well as disposal of drugs
 
Qualifications: 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least two years of operational leadership experience in a long term care pharmacy setting.
  • BS in Pharmacy or a Pharm D Degree
  • Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the State of Illinois (active and in good standing)
  • Stable work history, exceptional communication skills and customer service focus a must.
  • Experience providing leadership for a medium to large team of pharmacists desired.
