Instrumentation Field Technician – Addison, TX

We are seeking an Instrumentation Field Technician to join our team in Addison, TX. This role is critical to project success, as it involves direct customer interaction, on-site technical expertise, and ensuring quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Instrumentation Support – Perform start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting for instruments including:

  • Transmitters (flow, pressure, temperature, vibration, etc.)
  • Analyzers (dissolved oxygen, pH, chlorine, conductivity, turbidity, ORP, etc.)

🔹 Systems Drawings & Documentation – Interpret P&ID, Control Loop, and Control Panel drawings; update documentation with as-built markups for existing PLC and DCS control systems.

🔹 Motor Control & Electrical Troubleshooting – Work with 480VAC distribution and motor control equipment, following all safety protocols.

🔹 PLC Equipment & Modifications – Troubleshoot PLC and relay-based systems, perform mechanical and electrical equipment modifications in the field as needed.

🔹 Computer & Networking Support – Install and start up computer and networking equipment related to project controls.

🔹 Administrative Tasks – Handle paperwork, documentation, and reporting related to project execution.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Technical Associate’s degree OR equivalent training/experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in instrumentation, system drawings, motor control, PLCs, and field modifications.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret system drawings and schematics.
  • Experience working with PLC & motor control equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to client sites.
  • Professional communication skills to maintain strong client relationships.
