Join our team of Structural Engineering Consultants as a Structural Engineer in the Pittsburgh, PA region. Key Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis:
Develop structural designs and calculations for buildings, steel, wood, concrete and masonry structures
Conduct load assessments and stability analysis to ensure structural integrity.
Project Management:
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to define project requirements and specifications.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet client expectations.
Construction Oversight:
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams and resolve any structural issues that arise.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare detailed design and construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
Compile reports on project status, including any deviations from the original plans and proposed solutions.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural considerations into overall project planning.
Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to foster strong working relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in structural engineering.
Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Enercalc, STAAD, Bluebeam).
Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with advanced materials and construction techniques.
Project management experience and knowledge of construction processes.
Experience with working with architects
Familiarity with Microsoft products
