We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geotechnical/Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves delivering a broad range of engineering services, including investigation, analysis, design, repair, and rehabilitation of both new and existing structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical and structural engineering principles, practical field experience, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges.
You will be responsible for leading and executing technical work in line with ASCE Grade IV expectations, including:
Leading and performing detailed investigations, analyses, and design of structures including shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement systems, earth retaining walls, and excavation support systems.
Conducting engineering assessments related to soil settlement, slope stability, soil dynamics, and groundwater flow/seepage.
Evaluating dams, embankments, tunnels, and pavement systems, and performing forensic analyses of deteriorated or failed structures.
Designing repairs, retrofits, and strengthening solutions for distressed or aging infrastructure.
Providing construction support services for both new projects and rehabilitation efforts.
Assisting with insurance claims and litigation through engineering investigations and reporting.
Preparing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and staffing plans.
Managing complex projects or project components with minimal supervision.
Supervising and mentoring technical staff, providing coaching and oversight of deliverables.
Leading client communications, building relationships with stakeholders, and representing the firm in project discussions.
Contributing to internal training, technical presentations, and knowledge sharing.
Writing comprehensive reports, specifications, letters, and proposals with minimal oversight.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering.
MS or Ph.D. in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
Proven technical expertise in your focus area with the ability to manage multidisciplinary inputs into cohesive engineering solutions.
Involvement in professional organizations such as ASCE or similar, including committee participation, speaking engagements, or publication contributions.
Strong project management and time management skills, including scope and change control.
Proficiency with engineering software tools such as GEOSLOPE, Slide, Plaxis, LPILEplus, CIVILTech Shoring, DeepEX, Settle3D, ETABS, SAP2000, or RISA.
Willingness to travel to project sites, including those in remote or out-of-state locations.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
