Job Summary of the Product Manager: The Product Manager (PM) manages the entire lifecycle of core product lines, including decisions on extension or end-of-life, and drives the development of new products based on market problems. The role focuses on addressing customer needs and market opportunities to increase profitability in alignment with company objectives. Working cross-functionally with all business areas, the PM ensures successful product launches and sustained market performance of core products by understanding customer problems, market trends, and competitive positioning. Qualifications of Product Manager: o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience. o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). o Strong presentation, customer interaction, and project management skills. o Strong analytical abilities, including interpreting data, applying financial concepts, and making data-driven decisions. o Experience interpreting technical documents and market research. o Market travel within the Americas will be required. o International travel may be required.
Responsibilities of the Product Manager:o Manage the lifecycle of core products, including identifying opportunities for product line extension and obsolescence. o Increase product line profitability through strategic pricing and the development of new revenue streams. o Conduct market research and customer interviews to identify unmet needs and translate them into actionable product requirements. o Communicate market problems and expectations to guide engineering in creating solutions that address market needs. o Create and maintain a roadmap in collaboration with engineering and other Product Managers to align with company objectives. o Understand applicable markets, including customer needs, product applications, and competitor offerings. o Work with Market Development Managers to position products effectively in the market, including crafting core messaging, defining key benefits, and identifying target customers. o Collaborate with marketing communications to develop go-to-market strategies, sales materials, and promotional content. o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to ensure successful product launches and sustained product support. o Conduct beta and pilot programs for early-stage products, gathering feedback for refinement. o Manage product pricing, descriptions, and configurations in internal systems (e.g., SAP). o Provide initial product training to internal teams. o Provide support for internal teams by addressing additional product training needs and collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and enhance training materials as required o Support quality initiatives by ensuring product excellence, maintaining standards, and driving continuous improvement.
