$105,000 - $120,000 Per Year + 6% BONUS
We’re looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support our client's growing number of lab automation systems. In this role, you’ll install, maintain, and repair equipment at a key customer site. You’ll play an important part in helping the customer get the most out of our products. This position requires strong technical skills, a professional attitude, and a focus on customer service.
You’ll work closely with other support engineers, application specialists, and account managers to ensure customer satisfaction. This is an on-site role based at a customer location in Pennsylvania, with occasional travel to our client's headquarters near Boston.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, fix, and maintain HighRes lab automation equipment and systems.
Set up and calibrate robotic systems at the customer site.
Respond quickly to support requests and help diagnose technical issues.
Keep detailed records of support cases and repairs.
Work with our internal teams to update, upgrade, or move equipment at customer sites.
Train customers on how to use our systems, including basic software training.
Build strong relationships with customers through clear and helpful communication.
Write service guides and share troubleshooting tips to help improve support.
Help train and guide junior team members to maintain high service standards.
Continue learning through technical training and skill development.
Occasionally work with third-party equipment manufacturers to help solve complex issues.
Keep track of spare parts and tools to make sure everything is in stock and ready to use.
Qualifications:
A technical qualification (HNC or similar), ideally in mechanical or electrical engineering.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience in a service or support role, especially with lab automation, robotics, or lab instruments. In-house automation support experience also counts.
Experience with cooling systems, software, networking, or programming is a plus but not required.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Well-organized and able to manage your own schedule.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Valid driver’s license required.
