OverviewThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all facility machinery and equipment are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role focuses on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, with the goal of minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery to ensure safe and proper operation.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools to reduce downtime.

  • Build, repair, and maintain gearboxes.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers by understanding parts, components, and specifications.

  • Order and manage replacement parts when necessary to maintain machine functionality.

Qualifications

  • Must provide own tools.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Skilled in operating a variety of machines and tools, including: Lathe, End Mill, Drill Press, Surface Grinder, CNC Machines, Cutting Torch, Welding Equipment, Brake Press, and general hand tools.

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communicator with solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read, write, and stay focused on complex tasks.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with advanced machinery.

  • Prior manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience preferred.

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school certification in machining or related field.

  • Military mechanical training/experience will be recognized in lieu of traditional education or experience.
